Customisable Toolbars

Customisable Toolbars are an excellent way to put all the functions you use regularly right in front of you, eliminating the need to navigate the existing ribbon menus looking for the function you need.

Customising Toolbars

1

To create your first Toolbar click on the 'Customise Toolbars' button which is located on the SETTINGS ribbon.

2

The following dialog box will now appear, then click New to create a new Toolbar, give the Toolbar a name and click OK

3

The Customization Dialog will now show you the name of your Toolbar. You will also notice that a new Grey bar has appeared underneath the ribbon bar at the top of your screen (highlighted below), this is your new blank Toolbar and where you will position your icons.

4

To add icons/functions to your Toolbar, select the Commands tab on the Customization dialog, find the command you want then drag the icon to the Grey blank space on the left of your toolbar as shown below. In the example below I will drag the Move command onto my toolbar.

5

After dragging the icon to the toolbar, it will look like the below highlighted in Red. Continue to add more functions to your toolbar as required, once you have finished click Close. Your toolbar is now usable.

TIP: You can position your toolbar wherever you want on the screen, just click and drag the 2 little bars on the left of your toolbar to position it.

TIP: If you want to customise your toolbar further, you can do this by repeating the above process or by clicking on the little Down arrow on the right of your toolbar.

TIP: If you want to make your icons bigger, customise your toolbar again then click on the Options tab, then the Large icons option as highlighted below. The icons on your toolbar and on the ribbon bar will now be made larger.
