System Settings

These are your system settings, they usually only have to adjusted once but you may need to refer to this when re-installing the software because these settings will be removed. If you have multiple licences of EFD and they are all connected to the same network, we recommend using the same settings to ensure consistency.

System Settings

To access the 'System Settings' click on this button which is located on the SETTINGS ribbon.

The below dialog box will now appear. See below for an explanation of each option available.

System Folders:

Template Folder - This is the folder where you store your venue templates. The templates from this folder then appear when you start a new drawing from a template - FILE > New from Template.

Symbol Folder - This is the folder where symbols should be stored, the default is:  C:\ProgramData\Event Floorplan Designer V5\Symbol Libraries, but you can change this path to wherever you like, somewhere on your network might be useful if there are multiple EFD users. Note that  this setting must be changed on each computer where EFD is installed if you want multiple users to access the same symbols.
The symbols from this folder appear in the Symbols Panel.

Venue Library Folder - This is the folder where you store your master venue drawings. The drawings from here appear in when using the insert Hall/Room function - INSERT > Hall/Room

Autosave:

Autosave is a very useful feature that saves you from losing any changes you have made to your floorplan if a system crash occurs.

Enable Autosave - This enables/disables Autosave, we recommend leaving this enabled.

Autosave Interval - This is the time between each Autosave. The smaller the amount of time, the more chance you have of not losing as many changes.

Autosave Folder - This is the folder where your drawing is Autosaved. We recommend leaving this as is but is can be changed is required.

Auto Files Folders:

Auto PDF Folder - This is the folder where your Auto-exported PDFs are saved. Only type in the folder name here such as 'PDF', do not type in a full folder path otherwise an error will occur. The folder name you add here will automatically be created as a subfolder under the folder where your drawing is stored e.g. C:/Floorplans/Showname/PDFS

Auto DWG Folder - Same as above but this is where the Auto-exported DWGs will be saved.

Auto Image Folder - Same as above but this is where the Auto-exported Images such as PNG, JPG will be saved.

Info:

Machine User Name - This is the name of your computer (the name that shows on your Windows start menu). This name is used when using the <DRAWNBY> text property on your floorplan. If your computer name does not match your real name, you can change this setting so the <DRAWNBY> text property shows your real name instead.

Reset Button : Clicking this button sets all of the properties in this dialog back to the defaults.
