Drawing Irregular Shaped Stands
Stands can be drawn in any shape using this function, the most common is an L-shape but you can even use Arcs to create rounded corners. For Circular Stands see here.
Drawing an Irregular Stand:
1
Select the 'Irregular' option from the Draw Stands button on the HOME ribbon as highlighted in Blue on the picture below.
TIP: You can also initiate this function by using the default Hot Key ' I '
2
Click on the screen at the point you want to start drawing your stand.
3
Drag your mouse pointer to start drawing the first edge of your stand. If you cannot see the stand edge size as you move your mouse, press F8 on your keyboard.
4
Keep clicking to draw the shape of your stand, if you make a mistake press ' U ' to go back a step.
TIP: If you want to draw an Arc as one of your stand edges, while in the middle of drawing your stand, press A (for Arc) or T (for Three point Arc). To start drawing lines again press L (for Line).
5
To finish drawing your stand, click on the first/starting point (which is shown with a Red circle) and then press escape, alternatively, before clicking on the first point, press ' C ' to close the stand which then automatically joins your last point with the first point.
NOTE: Whatever shape stand you draw, the system thinks it is a square so it may position the stand text in an incorrect location. To fix this just move your text manually using the Blue nodes attached to it. (See Green text in picture below)
