Preparation before inserting Component Symbols
It is recommended that you follow the below instructions to make it easier and more efficient to insert component Symbols.
Drawing Preperation
To make inserting component Symbols easier, a couple of options should be set first.
Snaps and Grid
Lock the Stands
Align Stands to the Grid
Make sure your component Symbols are available

Snap and Grid Settings.
To access the Snap settings click on the 'Grid & Snaps' button which is located on the SETTINGS Ribbon.
The following dialog will appear.
In the Grid and Snap section, make sure your settings exacly match the settings highlighted below.

Lock Stands.
The quickest way to Lock stands is to hover over a Stand, wait for the Yellow box to appear then press 'L' on your keyboard. For more help with this function, click here.

Align Stands to the Grid.
It is important that stands are aligned to the grid so that Symbols you add are positioned correctly.
Use the Align to Grid function to align the corner of a stand to the Grid as shown below.
Important Note: Depending on how the floorplan was drawn, it may be necessary to use the Align function for differnet blocks.

Check that your Symbols are ready to insert.
If you have downloaded / created your component Symbols and placed them in the correct location, you should see them in the Symbols Panel on the left of your screen as shown below.
If they are, you are now ready to insert them.
