View Layers

If you are not sure what Layers are, please see here.

Each View has its own Layer settings which means that when you select or export a View, it turns Layers on/off based on how you've set them in the View, as explained below.

1

Click on the 'Manage Views' button which is located on the HOME menu ribbon.

2

The Manage Views dialog box will now appear showing your list of views.

Select the View(s) you want to edit and click the Edit button. You can edit Layers for more than one View at a time.

3

The Edit View dialog will now appear.

Click on the LAYERS tab to access the Layers as shown below.

In the example below, 'Use Groups' is ticked which helps organise your list of Layers, making it easier to find the ones you need.

Now just turn layers on/off, lock/unlock as required, then click OK.

TIP: The third column which shows a printer icon can also be useful here. For example, you could leave Gangway Dimensions visible on-screen but hide them when you export this View to a PDF. Note that you cannot do this in reverse, you cannot hide something from the screen but then export it to a PDF.

NOTE: You cannot change Layer colours per View, the colours are only shown for reference.
