Using Wipeouts on multiple layers

Sometimes you need to blank off different areas of your floorplan and show these in different views, to do this you have to put your wipeouts on separate layers.

PLEASE NOTE: Using Wipeouts on multiple layers may not work as expected on Floorplan Live.

Draw a Wipeout

Before layering your Wipeouts you must first draw them, so please refer to the 'Draw a Wipeout' page if you need help with this.

1

In this tutorial I will use 3 different Wipeouts called Wipeout 1, Wipeout 2, and Wipeout 3 as shown below. Once drawn they will all be on one layer called 'Wipeouts'

2

Now create individual Layers for each Wipeout. Call the layers whatever you like but for this tutorial we will call them Wipeout 1, Wipeout 2 and Wipeout 3.

For help with creating Layers click here.

Once created you should end up with 3 new layers plus the original layer as shown below:

3

The Wipeouts now need to be moved onto the different layers.

Select Wipeout 1 and then click on the Layer selection box in the bottom left corner of the screen and select Wipeout 1, then when prompted say Yes to 'Change current selection to current layer' - see images below.

Wipeout 1 will now be on layer 'Wipeout 1'

Repeat this process for Wipeout 2 and Wipeout 3.

Now the Wipeouts are on separate layers you can turn them on and off when required but, you must make sure the original Wipeouts layer is always switched on for this to work correctly.

See example below with Wipeout 2 turned off.

NOTE: Using the 'Hide Selected Layer' function will not work correctly with Wipeouts, you must hide the layers manually.
