Open a previous version of a drawing

EFD automatically saves previous versions of your drawing in a folder called 'Versioning'. This folder is located in the same location as your master file (see image below).

Versioning files can be used in the following situations:

  1. To go back to a previous version of your floorplan which you prefer to use.

  2. Use a previous drawing incase your master drawing gets corrupted or lost.

1

Open a drawing version using one of the methods shown on this page.

2

Once you've opened the correct version of the drawing you want to use, you need to save it over the top of your existing master drawing (or save it as a master drawing if you have lost the previous master drawing).

To do this, go to FILE > Save > Save As, navigate to the folder where your current master drawing is located and click on it, then click Save. A message will now appear (see below) asking if you want to replace the drawing, click Yes.

If your previous master drawing was on the Floorplan Live system, go to step 3 below.

3

If your previous master drawing was on the Floorplan Live system, you need to enable the link on this new version because the link to Floorplan Live is removed automatically from the files in the Versioning folder. Please see here on how to enable the link.

Once the link has been enabled, you have the following options:

A) If you want to update your new master drawing with the stands that are currently on Floorplan Live, follow these instructions for downloading from Floorplan Live. You may want to do this if you lost or the previous master drawing was corrupted.

B) If you want to update the floorplan on Floorplan Live with this new floorplan, follow the instructions on this page for uploading to Floorplan Live, OR just close your drawing down and your floorplan will be uploaded automatically.
