Other Problems
1
Stands not showing on Floorplan Live because of Gross areas
2
Some of my menus and toolbars have moved or are missing

I am unable to select something, why is this?
If you are having trouble selecting something, it could be for one of the following:
The entity you are trying to select is on a locked layer - How to Unlock Layers
The 'Select Stands Only' option is enabled - How to turn this off
4
The Stand colours look washed out on screen but look fine in my exported files such as PDF, why is this?
This is because the default setting for Stand and Zone transparency is set to 50%. The reason for this is so that while you are working on your floorplan, the pillars, service ducts etc do not get hidden underneath the Stands or Zones. To adjust this setting go to SETTINGS > Visual Settings > GENERAL > Stand & Zone Transparency options.
5
After drawing or inserting something onto my drawing, it disappears?
The reason this happens is because the layer you are drawing onto (the Current layer) is set to invisible. You can check which layer you are drawing on by looking at the drop down box in the bottom left of your screen next to the word Layer. To resolve this problem click on HOME > Layers, find the relevant layer and make it visible, then click OK. The entities you have drawn will now appear. For help with Layers click here.
6
There are some stands on my floorplan that are not showing, how do I make them show?
The reason why some stands do not show is most likely because The 'Show Stands' option is unticked for a particular Gross Area/Hall Boundary. To resolve this go to DRAW > Hall/Show Boundary > Edit Hall/Show Boundaries, look down the list to see if any of the Show Boundaries have the 'Show Stands' tick box unticked, if they do then tick them, then click close. Your stands will now appear.
Another reason they may not show is if you have moved some stands to another layer so, to fix this switch the relevant layer on and your stands will now show.

The PDFs that I export are quite large, how do I reduce the size of them?
There are multiple reasons why your PDFs are larger than expected but the biggest reason is usually that you have lots of, or high resolution logos/images on your floorplan. To help with this problem you can adjust the 'Embed Image Quality' option found here . If your file sizes are still larger than expected, see below or please contact us so we can help further.
Other reasons why the file could be large are:
You have lots of text on your floorplan which has widths of more or less than 1, i.e. 0.9 or 1.1. The reason for this is because text with widths are exported as outlines instead of text, making the amount of entities exported much greater.
Drawing scale factor and linetypes - If you have many lines on your plan that use a dashed/dotted linetype and your drawing scale is not set correctly i.e. 1:1 whereas it should be 1:200, then this increases the file size because each segment of the dotted line is exported individually, and at 1:1 scale there are far more segments to be exported.
Solid filled areas on arcs and circles also increases the PDF file size.
Some imported venues have huge amounts of detail on them such as screws, brackets, hinges etc which can cause larger file sizes. The only way to improve this is to either delete the information that is not needed, or if it is layered correctly, turn the layers off.

EFD Crashes when minimizing it to the Windows task bar
If you are getting this problem then it is most likely a problem with your computer's graphics card. Some graphics cards, usually the low end ones, do not support OpenGL very well so can cause EFD to crash when used in OpenGL mode. It is not just EFD that is affected, other programs that use OpenGL will also have problems.
How to fix this problem:
1. Check that you have the most up to date drivers for your graphics card.
2. Use DirectX mode - Go to SETTINGS > Display and change the graphics driver to DirectX. Using this mode will stop the crashing but will cause EFD to run more slowly.
3. If none of the above are to your satisfaction then we recommend you change your graphics card to something more robust, specifically designed for use with a CAD system. You can see some recommendations here.
Known graphics cards with problems:
Intel HD Graphics 4600 - as at 30th July 2015 - It has been noted that drivers released July 2015 do not resolve the problem.
