Create a View

This page will describe how to create a View. For an explanation of what Views actually are click here.

Create a View

1

Before creating a View, we recommend that you insert a View Border on your floorplan which can then be linked to the View you are about to create. Linking the View to a border makes sure your floorplan always fits the page properly on an exported PDF even if you adjust the size, shape or orientation of the Border later on.

You can create Views without a View Border if you wish, which can be useful sometimes if you need to create a quick View of an area on your floorplan.

2

Add an Exhibition Name by going to SETTINGS > Drawing Properties as shown below.

The Exhibition Name will be used for the first part of your View name.

Click OK and go to step 3.

3

Create a View with a border: Select the border and then click on the Blue circle with a White Plus Icon which is located on the HOME menu as shown below. Doing this will automatically link the border to your view.

Create a View without a border: Zoom into the area of the plan that you want to create a View of, we recommend using the Zoom Window tool for this because each corner of the Zoom window will define the extents of the View, similar to how a View Border would, then click on the Blue circle with a White Plus Icon which is located on the HOME menu as shown below.

4

The following Save View dialog box will now appear.

View Name - This text box will be populated automatically with the Exhibition Name plus the word View 1, 2, 3 etc. however, you can rename this to whatever you like. Note: If you keep the Exhibition Name as it is for all of your views, if you edit the exhibition name afterwards in Drawing Properties, all of your Views will be updated automatically.

Link to Border - This should be linked automatically if you selected a Border when creating the View, if not, select the Border you would like linked, unless you don't want it linked.

Now click OK to save your View or OK & View to save the view and load the view onto your screen.
